Windows Engineer
Windows Engineer (Denver or San Antonio)
ViaWest, Inc., a super-regional provider of co-location and managed hosting solutions, has an opportunity for a self-driven Windows Engineer. This position is responsible for a variety of complex professional duties that ensure the Hosting department’s mission and objectives are met. This includes administration of core production server systems, information systems, and technology infrastructure, participation in the design, installation, and maintenance of the complex customer systems, and conducting system troubleshooting analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies. Candidates must be willing to relocate to San Antonio or Denver.
Our fast-paced work environment requires candidates to demonstrate superior communication skills, focus and efficiency in performance.
Requirements:
· 2 years hosting experience mandatory for consideration.
· 2+ years experience with web technologies such as IIS 5, 6, & 7
· Familiar with implementing high availability cluster technology
· Administrative scripting w/ Windows shell (cmd), Windows Scripting Host (wsh), Windows Management Instrumentation (wmi)
· Talent at diagnosing and remedying serious server related problems and failures promptly and effectively
· Experience maintaining servers that provide standard services such as DNS, Active Directory, DHCP, ADS, Exchange and FTP services
· Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
· Must possess extensive experience in Windows system administration
