Solutions Engineer - Dallas
ViaWest, Inc., a super-regional provider of co-location and managed hosting solutions, has an opportunity for an entry level Solutions Engineer to work at the InfoMart. We are a rapidly growing organization and we embrace change as a way of life. Our innovative solutions and exceptional customer service to clients has set us apart from our competition.
This position is responsible for monitoring and ensuring data center integrity, managing inbound vendor hotline, backup services installations and issues. Provides daily (24 / 7 / 365) support via phone and e-mail on a variety of issues, troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, and performs maintenance on a variety of equipment and systems.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Network Operations Center Technician or equivalent.
- Experience with ISP Services (Email, DNS, HTTP, FTP).
- Experience working with service providers testing and troubleshooting Dial-up, DSL, ISDN circuits.
- Experience maintaining computers and laptops.
- Experience working with vendors.
- Solid understanding of DSL, ISDN and Dialup
- Solid understanding of shared hosting technologies and Email
- Troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Work effectively in a dynamic and changing environment
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Ability to work nights and weekends
